Welcome to Balfron2Mongolia. We are a group of 15-16 year old students from Balfron High School in central Scotland who are trying to raise individually and as a group over £3,000 each to go on a trip of a lifetime to Mongolia in July 2008.

We will be responsible for raising our own trip funds along with paying for all our kit such as rucksacks, walking boots, sleeping bags etc and we will be creating our own internary of where to go and what to do to make the trip our own.

Each of us has their own information on 'The Adventurers' page where we discuss what we personally hope to achieve from our trip and our ambitions for the future. The page will aslo include ways each student will raise money.

We realise that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity as we will visit places that people can only dream of, we will be trekking across the great Mongolian landscape on foot and horseback; a real challenge for those of us who have never ridden a horse or indeed are not presently fit enough!

A large part of the experience will be the build up to the trip where we will be holding many fundrasing events and training where we will be learning new skills as a group.

Part of the trip is giving something back to a local Mongolian community by assisting them with a specific project; we also have to raise the money needed for this.

Not only will be letting you know how we are progressing with our fundraising, but we will be adding additional pages such as the History of Mongolia, adding to our itineriay and giving credit to our Sponsors.
